The
TreeHouse at Liberty Hospital |

The
TreeHouse at
Liberty
Hospital
is a hospitality house - a place to stay while a loved one is hospitalized at Liberty
Hospital
- located on the Liberty Hospital Campus and is for patient families and
patients awaiting treatment. Over 500 community members, organizations, and
businesses donated the funds to build TreeHouse. The TreeHouse is a gift from
the Liberty Hospital Foundation to the Liberty
Hospital. Although the Hospital manages the daily operations of TreeHouse, the
Foundation funds the operational cost and raises money for an endowment to pay
for the future operations of TreeHouse.
TreeHouse is located on a knoll overlooking the Hospital Walking Trail, with a
lower story walkout basement. It has 10 sleeping rooms with attached private
bathrooms, laundry facilities, a quiet room, and a kitchen/hearth room that
functions as the heart of the house, all with the feel of a home-away-from-home.
A resident assistant lives on-site and is on duty at night.
Volunteers staff the house during the day. There is a suggested donation for using the
house but no guest is turned away because of an inability to pay. For further
information about staying at TreeHouse please call the TreeHouse directly at
816-883-2088. The Foundation publishes a newsletter about the TreeHouse.
